Notes for use of microwave inductor

Microwave sensor has incomparable advantages in detection accuracy, adaptability to the environment, penetration and life span. Therefore, the application of microwave induction is more and more common, in addition to lighting field, but also widely used in system control, Internet of things and other fields.

However, when users install and use microwave inductor, they have many doubts because they are not familiar with the characteristics of microwave inductor. Here are some notes for installing and using microwave sensors:

1, the need for professional installation personnel

First of all, microwave inductor is a professional product, which needs professional electrician to install, because wiring, dial switch setting, etc., need certain electrician knowledge.

2, can not penetrate metal materials

Microwave sensors can penetrate non-metallic materials, such as plastic, glass, wood, plasterboard, etc., and can be installed inside the lamp without affecting the overall design and installation of the lamp, which is the advantage of microwave sensors. But at the same time, microwave also can penetrate gypsum board, glass wall and other non-concrete walls, there is a mobile signal outside the wall, will also trigger the microwave sensor work, to some users bring trouble. If it is a standard concrete wall, the microwave radiation energy will be consumed in the wall, and cannot penetrate.

Microwaves cannot penetrate metal, but we often see customers install microwave sensors behind the aluminum substrate of the lamp board, which does not work. The antenna part of the sensor must be exposed in order to work properly.

3. Induction distance is related to many factors

For example, in the product specifications provided to customers, there will be an inductive radiation map showing the detection distance of sensors from eight directions. We will note the test condition: a person of 1.65m height moving at a speed of 0.3m/s. In fact, the factors affecting the induction distance in addition to the size of the detected object, there are moving speed, installation height and installation environment (whether there are multiple reflective surfaces), such as in the corridor environment to test the induction distance is far than the open environment; Adults will test for greater sensing distance than children and so on.

4, need to debug according to the application environment

Due to the diversity of microwave sensor application environment, it is impossible for manufacturers to simulate each application environment to conduct verification tests. Therefore, when microwave sensor is installed on different occasions, it may be necessary to adjust parameters (such as induction distance, steady light, low light time, light sensing threshold, etc.) to match the sensor with the environment.

For example, for narrow space or large metal environment, we need to set low sensitivity mode or reduce the induction distance to make the product work stably.

Microwave sensors generally adjust parameters in two ways, one is remote control and the other is dial switch. The effect is the same, but there are more parameters on the remote control. In addition, customers can inform the application environment in advance, and we set up specific parameters according to customer requirements. For a new installation environment, you are advised to install 5pcs in batches before mass installation. Set proper parameters and ensure that the products work stably.

5. Set the correct light sensitivity value

The combination of motion sensing and light control makes the sensor smarter and more energy efficient. Due to different time, different weather, different seasons and different environments, the proportion of various spectra in natural light is not the same, leading to the difference in the illumination value of photosensitive detection. In order to solve this problem, it is recommended that the sensor be installed in the environment of diffuse reflection of ambient light and avoid direct sunlight.

There is another point, affected by the transmittance of the lampshade, natural light through the lampshade will be reduced, resulting in the actual value received by the light sensor and the light outside the lampshade is different, and the transmittance of different lampshades is not the same, so the user also needs to adjust the light control value for the installation environment.

Provides a variety of light sensing values for customers to choose, in different installation environment, customers can choose different light control values to match.

6, dimming function, need to adapt to adjust the drive

For dimming function sensors, it is necessary to adapt the dimming drive. Because the dimming curve and dimming precision of each driver are different, the sensor is suitable for different models of driver, and the dimming effect will be slightly different. For example, some brightness can be adjusted to 10% at the lowest, and some can only be adjusted to 20%, which is determined by the driver.
